If your photographer asks, if you want digital or film? Hi resolution or low resolution? Would you know how to answer? Sadly, most consumers have images in their minds of those blurry bad colored 5x7's they got from their consumer cameras. So, why should you trust the most important day of your life to fuzzy pictures? We'll explain why you might want to consider it.

Professional digital cameras today are currently doubling in resolution about every twelve to eighteen months. Those yesterdays of unsharp 8x10's, 11x14's, 16x20's and even awesome 40x50's inch prints are now relics of the past. The current state of the art pro digital cameras have enormous resolution power at 8 mega pixel or higher. It doesn't serve to confuse you why nor is this a technical lesson. Instead we'll move on to the important factors and the "why" digital. Suffice it to say...the web does not do them justice. Think of the creative possiblities.

Can you tell if the images on this website are shot on film or digitally? Exactly! It's ALL digital shot on a professional digital camera. Rich color, tack sharp, great detail. Digital at this level is equal to and in some cases surpasses conventional film. So your next question might be, why can't my digital camera produce those kinds of images? In a word, Cost. Digital cameras at this level cost closely to a healthy down payment on a new car and in some cases a down payment on a new home. The typical consumer probably won't spend that for snap shots of family and friends. However full time professionals must have the best equipment. We make our lively hood doing photography. We must have the best. Every image on this website is digital.

Ok, we've established at this level the images are excellent. But there are some other significant advantages to the customer as well as the photographer. We'll site a few next. First is speed. Shooting digital is fast. No film to load EVER. You might change storage media every once in a while and this take an entire 5 seconds every 200-400 images. Second it's permanent. Digital files are stored on CD's. As long as you don't use the CD's for coasters they should last indefinitely. Third, you probably have a home printer. Guess what? Just a little practice and you can print those yourself. Fourth, there are already digitalized so you want to e-mail them to your friends, no problem. A little downsizing and your images can be anywhere in the world in a few seconds. Fifth, your images are private. Only the worker, usually the photographer or his assistant has access to your images. Sixth, it does not usually take ages for your CD's. They can usually be in your hands within a few days and don't go out to a lab to get lost. Seventh, not having a particularly good skin day? All the images are digitized. Things can be "fixed" as they were never there. We could go on but you see where we're going here. The digital age is here, film "someday" may resemble the old printing press.
